RHA in Irvine & Fountain Valley, CA

Restore your skin’s plump, youthful radiance with the highest quality RHA filler injections at First OC Dermatology!

What are RHAs?

Resilient Hyaluronic Acids (RHAs) are a type of injectable gel filler used to help restore loss volume in the skin that can cause fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring compound in your body that is necessary for your skin’s overall health, RHA injectables are ideal for reversing signs of aging.

RHAs are designated as ‘resilient’ because they are formulated to last. The gel compound takes longer for your body to break down, giving you beautiful, natural-looking results for up to 18 months between your sessions.

RHA filler injections can be on nearly all areas of the face, including:

  • Cheeks
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Frown lines
  • Under eye
  • In and around the lips
  • Forehead
  • Chin and jawline

What are the Benefits of RHA Injections?

As a non-surgical age reversal treatment, RHA injections require little to no downtime and can be performed quickly and safely in as little as 15 minutes. This means your RHA appointments can fit into any schedule, giving you full control of how and when you age gracefully.

Unlike other treatments like surgical facelifts or BOTOXⓇ, RHA fillers can also be easily reversed if and whenever you decide. It is a truly customizable beauty treatment that allows you to enhance your natural beauty without drastically changing the way you look. That versatility gives you the comfort and peace of mind of being in control of your results.

What are the Risks of RHA Injections?

RHA injections are generally safe for most patients when administered by well-trained professionals who are dedicated to upholding safety standards. However, no cosmetic injection service is without some risks. Some common potential side effects you may experience after your RHA fillers include:

  • Bruising, redness, or swelling at the injection site
  • Mild pain or discomfort (typically resolves itself in a few days)
  • Firmness or small lumps at the injection site (RHAs typically settle on their own)
  • Itchiness and/or tenderness

In rare cases, patients may experience adverse reactions to the injections. Late-onset inflammatory responses can occur within 48 to several weeks after receiving RHA fillers. These reactions are typically easy to treat with oral steroid medications, dissolution, or other medical interventions. If you experience any concerning symptoms, please be sure to seek medical care immediately.

Are RHA Injections Reversible?

RHA fillers are fully reversible if and when you decide you no longer want them. The reversal process is simple and similar to your initial injection. Your provider will inject a dissolving solution into the desired areas to partially or completely remove any fillers.

The reversal process typically takes about 48 hours, but swelling post-injection may occur. You may experience some mild discomfort when getting your fillers dissolved. Typically this isn’t much more uncomfortable than your initial filler treatment and any pain should fade on its own within 24-48 hours. Other potential side effects can include bruising at the injection site, tenderness, and loss of volume. In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur.

How Long Do RHA Injections Last?

When performed correctly by a cosmetic injectable professional, RHA fillers can last up to 2 years. As a naturally occurring compound in the body, these fillers will eventually be broken down by your body. However, because RHAs are specifically formulated to be long-lasting, they last much longer than other HA fillers, meaning you get the same great results with less visits.
